Hello lovely people! 😊 This morning I was thinking: well, it is obviously great to know how to prepare cakes and fancy desserts, but being able to cook yourself the most creamy, warm and comforting porridge in only 10 minutes is even more important. I couldn’t live without my porridge bowls for breakfast 🙏🥰
On the picture you can see my maca porridge from this morning, but you could use a different superfood, cinnamon, vanilla or cacao powder instead of maca, it’s super versatile! The secret is to start cooking your porridge with water and a pinch of salt, and add milk only when the water is absorbed. I’ll share the details below! ⬇️

Creamy maca porridge
🔸️1/2 cup of porridge oats (fine oats)
🔸️1 cup of water
🔸️pinch of good quality salt
🔸️1/2 cup of plant milk of choice
🔸️(optional) 1/2 tsp of vanilla and/or cinnamon
🔸️1 tsp of maca (sub your favourite superfood powder or cacao)
🔸️(optional) 1-2 tsp of maple syrup
Add oats, water and salt to a saucepan. Bring to a simmer and cook until almost all water is absorbed (usually about 3 minutes), mixing frequently. Add plant milk and (if using) cinnamon and vanilla. Continue cooking until desired consistency, mixing constantly. Remove from heat and mix in maca powder (or different superfood powder) and (if using) maple syrup. We don’t want to cook our superfoods, that’s why it’s better to mix them in when the porridge is cooked. Serve warm with toppings of choice!
